Privacy Policy

CLRD is a fully local app. Nothing you do in it ever leaves your phone.

Last updated: June 14, 2026

The short version: CLRD reads your call log, optionally your SMS inbox, and optionally your contacts — all on your device, never transmitted anywhere. It writes only when you explicitly delete something. We have no servers, no analytics, no accounts, and no interest in your data.

What CLRD Does

CLRD is a call log cleanup utility for Android. It identifies spam-flagged and unwanted call log entries and deletes them when you say so. That's the whole app.

What We Access and Why

Call Log (READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG)

CLRD reads your call log to identify entries flagged as spam by the Android platform — calls with a block reason set, calls rejected or screened automatically, or calls with zero duration from unknown numbers. These entries are displayed in a review list. If you tap NUKE, WRITE_CALL_LOG is used to delete the entries you selected. Nothing is read for any other purpose.

Contacts (READ_CONTACTS — optional)

If you grant this permission, CLRD uses it to display a contact name next to a phone number in the review list (e.g., "John Smith" instead of a raw number). The app works fully without this permission — numbers are shown as-is if contacts access is not granted. No contact data is stored or used for any other purpose.

SMS Inbox (READ_SMS, SEND_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, RECEIVE_MMS — optional)

If you grant SMS permissions, CLRD can scan your SMS/MMS inbox and display threads for review. You choose which threads to delete, and CLRD removes them from your device when you confirm. CLRD can also send a STOP reply to opted-in senders if you request it — this sends a single outgoing SMS from your device through your carrier, which you initiate explicitly. No SMS content is read for any other purpose, stored, or transmitted anywhere by CLRD.

Blocklist

You can add phone numbers to a Blocklist. Call log entries from those numbers are silently removed whenever CLRD opens. Blocklist numbers are stored locally on your device via Android DataStore and are never transmitted off your device. You can remove numbers at any time from within the app.

Ghost Mode (Premium feature)

Ghost Mode is an optional paid upgrade that works identically to the Blocklist but is managed separately. Phone numbers you add to Ghost Mode are stored locally on your device and silently removed from your call log on each launch. These numbers are never transmitted off your device and are deleted immediately when removed from the list or when the app is uninstalled.

Billing and Payments

Ghost Mode is available as a one-time in-app purchase ($4.99) processed entirely by Google Play. CLRD never sees your payment information. The only signal CLRD receives from Google Play is a yes/no confirmation that the purchase was completed. That confirmation is stored locally on your device and used only to unlock the Ghost Mode feature.

We do not retain any purchase records. If you need a receipt or refund, contact Google Play directly.

Data We Never Collect

How Long Data Is Kept

CLRD stores the following locally on your device via Android DataStore: your Blocklist numbers, your Ghost Mode numbers (if you use it), your Auto-Clean preference (on/off), your active filter selection, and a running count of entries you've cleared. All of this lives only on your device and is controlled entirely by you.

No other data is retained between sessions. When CLRD closes, nothing persists beyond what's listed above. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Control and Deletion

Because CLRD stores nothing on external servers, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. All data CLRD touches lives on your device and is under your control at all times.

Age

CLRD is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Given that CLRD collects no information from anyone, this is somewhat academic — but we're saying it anyway because we have to.

Policy Updates

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Given that CLRD's entire premise is local-only operation, meaningful changes are unlikely. We're not planning to add servers, accounts, or analytics — that would defeat the point.
